Berks Places: Gibraltar in Robeson Township is named for the European monolith


Berks Places is a recurring feature that will focus on the small villages and census designated places throughout the county. In the northernmost reaches of Robeson Township, right along the Exeter Township line, the village of Gibraltar developed into a census-designated place.
There were forges and grist mills there in the late 1700s through the late 1800s. Now the town is probably most known for the Turkey Hill Minit Market at the intersection of Routes 724 and 568 and Scoupe deVille Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street (Route 724). ....
