The Austin ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to put a $2.44 billion bond on the November ballot. The package would modernize more than two dozen schools, invest tens of millions of dollars in technology and address critical infrastructure issues district-wide.
Ahead of a final vote on the bond proposal, several trustees who represent historically underserved schools raised concerns the district wants to reallocate tens of millions of dollars for projects at schools with majority-white student populations.
