Photo: WINA CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – JuanDiego Wade and Brian Pinkston are the Democrats’ nominees for City Council’s two seats up for election in November. Both men talked about unity during campaigns for nomination, and Wade was the top vote-getter at 48%. Pinkston was second in a three-man race with 35%. Carl Brown was odd man out with 17% of the vote. Wade told Morning News he will rest for about 15 minutes, then hit the trail to run along with his Democratic cohort toward November. He said there are numerous good people in Charlottesville who when they join together, there’s nothing the city cannot do. Pinkston talked on Morning News about working toward a “functional city government”. He says that’s accomplished by City Council and the City Manager working together with other city leaders with respect toward each other. He said it’s fine to disagree, but those disagreements must be combined with a desire to move forward for the city’s sake. ....
