WA Police have mounted a massive search for a man believed missing in rising floodwaters near Wagin after his car was found abandoned.
A Jit Khan, 34, was on his way home from Perth to Katanning on Tuesday morning when his grey Mitsubishi Triton became stranded in rising floodwaters on Ballagin Road in Piesseville.

His vehicle, along with another, was found submerged around midday Tuesday. The occupants of the second vehicle have since been found safe and well. ....

As spring approaches and sub-clover pastures reach maximum growth rates, producers are encouraged to look out for high oestrogen sub-clovers in pastures grazed by sheep to protect the health of their mob.
Sub-clovers with high levels of oestrogen can negatively affect sheep reproductive health. These pastures have been linked to increased rates of infertility, stillbirths and uterine prolapse in ewes, as well as increased lamb mortality.
High oestrogen sub-clovers are still commonly found in pastures throughout southern Australia. Around 20-25% of all pastures surveyed contained or were dominated by these old clover cultivars, including Yarloop, Dwalganup, Geraldton and Dinninup cultivars. ....

Building company fined $175,000 over death of worker
Building company Gran Designs WA Pty Ltd has been fined a total of $175,000 over the 2017 death of a contract worker in the South-West town of Yarloop.
The company pleaded guilty in the Bunbury Magistrates Court yesterday to five charges, the most serious of which was failing to provide and maintain a safe workplace and, by that failure, causing the death of the worker. On this charge the company was fined $150,000.
Other charges against Gran Designs involved workers not wearing safety helmets, not having a Safety Management Plan, not having a Safe Work Method Statement on site and workers not holding High Risk Work Licences. On these charges the company was handed a global fine of $25,000. ....

After the fire north-east of Perth has been burning all week, destroying 86 properties in its path, a cooler change has brought slight a reprieve for firefighters and anxious residents and with it, a chance to assess the damage.
The blaze has razed almost 11,000 hectares of bushland in the picturesque Perth Hills area, popular with folk seeking a tree-change.
A total of 86 homes have been lost in the blaze.
