Kaaterskill Falls in Greene County is one of the many popular hikes in the Hudson Valley that drew larger than normal crowds during the pandemic. To reduce trail use this summer, the DEC will assign volunteers to select trailheads in the state to persuade hikers to leave no trace or try a less crowded trail as part of a new Adopt-a-Trail program.Roger Hannigan Gilson
