A former Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Bello Kirfi, has dragged the Bauchi State government to court to challenge his removal from office as a Senior Councillor in the Bauchi Emirate Council. Alhaji Bello Kirfi who was a Minister of Special Duties during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo in the 2000s, was stripped of his traditional title as “Wazirin Bauchi” and removed from being a council member for the second time in five years, by the Bauchi Emirate Council.
Cross River, Nasarawa, Bauchi plan anti-corruption agencies after Lagos

Some state governments, including Cross River, Bauchi, and Nasarawa are also planning to establish their own anti-corruption agencies, taking a cue from Lagos State which about two weeks ago signed a new law mandating anti-graft agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to hand over corruption cases to the state government.
However, Ekiti, Kogi, Enugu and Imo states rejected the idea of creating parallel anti-graft agencies, while Rivers, Gombe, Adamawa, and Delta states said they had yet to decide whether to create their own anti-graft agencies.
According to the legislation titled, ‘Lagos State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law,’ signed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu about two weeks ago, a new anti-corruption agency will have the exclusive rights to investigate financial crimes and corruption cases involving the finances of the Lagos State Governme

All appointments are with immediate effect. The NPA now has a total number of 21 GMs and 60 AGMs.
NPA said the move was in furtherance of the commitment to motivate its workforce and building a formidable succession plan in line with the federal character principle.
The new GMs are: Olaseni Alakija, who becomes General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Communications, Patricia Aboh (Mrs).
Others are Servicom; Mr Sylvester Nwankwo General Manager, MD’s Office and (Mrs.) Anthonia Ohagwa, General Manager, ICT.
The new AGMs are Naphtali Pella, Audit (Finance & Investment); Adesina Salau, Land & Estate, Zainab Dantiye(Mrs), Administration, and Nansel Zhimwan, Corporate & Strategic Communications.

Bauchi State Government on Wednesday revealed that it had removed no fewer than 715 civil servants from the payroll system in the state in a bid to checkmate ghost worker syndrome.
The revelation was made by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mohammed Sabiu Baba, while briefing journalists of the outcome of the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at the Government House, Bauchi.
According to the government scribe, in order to address the issue of payment of salary to civil servants and tackle the issue of ghost workers on the state government payroll, the Governor Bala Abdulkadir administration set up a committee about four weeks ago to have a sanitized payroll system.
