Forum of former members of Kwara State House of Assembly has called on current Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Salihu-Danladi, to swear-in Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as ordered by the Supreme Court.
The forum which has former state lawmakers from 1979 to 2019 as members made this call in the communique issued at the end of its maiden meeting in Ilorin on Monday.
The communique was signed by Dr Abraham Ashaolu and Hon. Isiaka Mogaji, the acting chairman and acting secretary respectively.
The forum also called on the 36 state governors to respect and effect the Executive Order 10 issued by President Muhammadu Buhari to grant financial autonomy and independence to the State Houses of Assembly. ....

Kwara flags off $60m RAAMP intervention road projects

Ilorin, Jan. 13, 2020 Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has flagged off the construction of $60 million Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Projects (RAAMP) intervention road projects in the state.
AbdulRazaq, who was represented on Wednesday at the flag off by his deputy, Kayode Alabi, said that the government paid the N400m million counterpart fund to attract the intervention of RAAMP in the state.
According to him, the government cannot lay claim to promote food security or seek investment into the state when the roads were in bad shape, hence his commitment of huge resources into partnership with international agencies. ....
