Long dong. we re getting a nice break now. the recovery will be ongoing with clear skies. there s another storm system brewing across the west. this one also by midweek has the potential to spauk tornadoes once again across the same region. okay. ivan cabrera, many thanks to you. some very, very strange weather events over there. let s check europe s stock markets now, about 90 minutes or so, 94 minutes into the week s first trading day. we are seeing a fair losses here, particularly for the zurich smi, off by 1.3%. the international outlook in particular for the euro is damaging the others as well, london ftse off by about 0.3%, paris cac, down by 0. 89% and the xetra dax off by 0.62%. one of the big factors here is uncertainty with moody s having downgraded the irish government ....
That after some gentle gains i would say really on wednesday, we re looking at some selling again on thursday with the paris cac 40 off by about 1%. half a percent the losses for ftse. and xetra d a x off by a fraction of a percent. how about over there? pretty quiet. markets in asia largely shrugging off the worries over egypt. in australia, the s&p ended the day higher, obviously, about half a percent and obviously concern for insurance stocks given the cyclones that hit and in mumbai, still trading there. up almost 2% and keeping you informed of how those markets are moving but otherwise, like i said, it s a lunar new year ....
