WVU announced this week that Med Fields has been named the new location for the future Pride Practice Field and Facility for the Mountaineer Marching Band. The University Planning Committee has greenlit use of the site, and the original architect for the project has been reinstated. Finalization of the new design and cost estimates will be complete within six months, according to university officials, paving the way for construction procurement and subsequent site work, with the aim of making the turf field operational by August 2025.
RaeQuan Battle and his West Virginia teammates celebrated on the court amidst a swarm of students as John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” blared over the WVU Coliseum sound system. Battle’s 23 points and nine rebounds led West Virginia to a stunning 91-85 upset win over No. 3 Kansas Saturday. Just two months ago, Battle wondered if NCAA rules would prevent him from having that kind of special moment this season.
