Prices of food items rise in Kano, Abuja, Lagos, others

FOLLOWING the rise in the cost of foodstuffs across the country, the Nigerian Tribune, on Monday, took a survey of prices in different markets in the country and found that insecurity, extortion, climate change, among others are reasons for the skyrocketing prices of food commodities. 
From southern states to those in the North, the experience is the same, as prices of food items soar. 
In Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, prices of cow meat rise, with Alhaji Sule Esa Mohammed, state secretary of Cattle Breeders Association and also secretary to Amalgamated Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria, linking it to the strike of the union.  ....

Herdsmen crisis: Sunday Igboho a child of circumstance - Gov Akeredolu


Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, on Monday, described the Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho as a child of circumstance.
The governor, while speaking on Channels Television’s programme, ‘Politics Today’, noted that the situations that led to the activist’s interventions in security issues should be investigated.
“Sunday Igboho is a child of circumstance. We must look at the circumstance that led to each of these interventions,” Akeredolu noted.
The Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum stressed that nothing happens without a reason, adding that the circumstances may be legal and maybe illegal but should be examined. ....

IGP Adamu gets fresh knocks over alleged molestation, arrest of EndSARS protesters

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Muhammad Adamu who had been under ‘fire’ recently over his tenure elongation by president Muhammadu Buhari, has received fresh knocks from Nigerians after the arrest of EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on Saturday.
The EndSARS protests that led to the death of many Nigerian youths across the country late 2020, resurfaced when the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry which was set up by the state government to investigate the alleged extrajudicial killings by the Nigeria Police, ordered the reopening of the Lekki Toll Gate where Nigerian Military allegedly killed many protesters on October 10, 2020. ....
