Wright Rehab obtains company culture certification
Surveyed employees at Wright Rehab scored the institution on community impact, making a difference, and other criteria.
FAIRBORN An independent research and consulting firm has granted Wright Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center a “Great Place to Work” certification based on employee feedback.
The appropriately titled Great Place to Work Institute evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experiences on the job at Wright Rehab, including employee pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and other criteria.
Rankings are based on employees’ experiences from the breadth of disciplines at the healthcare center, and determined based on surveys given to employees.

FAIRBORN The coronavirus vaccine has reached Fairborn nursing homes, and healthcare workers have begun administering it to seniors in the most vulnerable populations. Residents at Wright Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center are among those who have received the vaccine, and were featured by Gov. Mike DeWine on his most recent coronavirus press briefing.
Resident Darrell Holt and Wright Rehab Director of Dietary Sean Veasley received the first inoculation of the two-part vaccine live on DeWine’s press conference Tuesday.
During the conference, livestreamed on the Ohio government website, DeWine asked each about the experience, as well as their reactions to the vaccine being available. Both Holt and Veasley indicated it was a quick, painless process.

Nursing homes receive band poinsettias

FAIRBORN Residents at Wright Rehabilitation in Fairborn will have a little something to brighten their experience this holiday season. The Fairborn High School marching band hosted its annual poinsettia fund-raiser, and acquired nearly 300 poinsettias for Wright Rehab and other nursing homes in the area.
The fund-raiser, which was conducted primarily online, was a massive success. In addition to raising funds for the marching band, approximately 35 people and businesses contributed just shy of $2,000 to provide poinsettias to nearly 300 individuals living in nursing homes or long-term care facilities in the area.
