Wright & Bell Limited, the company that operates Kitty Hawk and Lino, has appointed Quantuma as administrators.
The Imbiba-backed operator’s City businesses were said to have been significantly impacted by the pandemic, with Kitty Hawk remaining closed since March 2020.
Managing director Sarah Clarke said: “We have been unable to reach a suitable agreement with our landlords, so have made the difficult but necessary decision to appoint administrators.”
Other companies within W & B Holdings will not be impacted by the administration.
These include Green Room, which was acquired in July 2020; new opening Marsha in Gabriel’s Wharf; and Whyte & Brown in Kingly Court.
Former The Dairy head chef Richard Falk will open a restaurant in the East Sussex town of Lewes early next month.
On the former site of Limetree Kitchen, Fork is billed as a modern interpretation of a traditional neighbourhood restaurant and will serve a modern British menu that’s ‘innovative yet accessible’.
Falk spent a total of five years at Robin Gill’s influential Clapham restaurant before becoming executive chef at Wright & Bell, overseeing the food at brands including Whyte & Brown in Soho’s Kingly Court.
His CV also includes stints at The Ledbury as well as D&D London’s Sauterelle and The Royal Exchange Grand Cafe,
