Over the weekend, Iran marked National Nuclear Technology
Day. The stars of the show were going to be new advanced

The
Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor condemns the Israeli
decisions to evacuate and demolish Palestinian homes in East
Jerusalem, paving the way for implementing Israeli plans for
a massive destruction and displacement operation against the
population, which may amount to the crime of ethnic
cleansing.
The Israeli decisions coincide with the
authorities establishment of settlement projects in the
heart of Palestinian communities in East Jerusalem to
perpetuate a policy of racial discrimination against the
Palestinian population.

Many Palestinian intellectuals and political analysts
find themselves in the unenviable position of having to
declare a stance on whether they support or reject upcoming
Palestinian elections which are scheduled for May 22 and
July 30. But there are no easy answers.
The
long-awaited decree by Palestinian Authority President
Mahmoud Abbas last January to hold legislative and
presidential elections in the coming months was widely
welcomed, not as a triumph for democracy but as the first
tangible positive outcome of dialogue between rival
Palestinian factions, mainly Abbas’ Fatah party and
Hamas.
As far as inner Palestinian dialogue is
concerned, the elections, if held unobstructed, could
