World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-Off Cancelled for 2021
With news this week that the annual Rayne Frog Festival is going to be cancelled for this year, we are sad to say that it s not the only Acadiana festival to be put on pause for 2021.
The annual World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-Off, traditionally held at the end of March at Northwest Pavillion in Eunice, will have to be cancelled once again. This would have been the 36th year for the huge celebration that brings together local cooks and professional chefs alike, who whip up the delicious cajun delicacy for hungry crowds.
The Etouffee Cook-Off was started in 1986 by the City of Eunice to showcase the crawfish industry and local chefs in the area. It usually draws thousands of visitors for a weekend of fun that includes live music, arts and crafts, and a pretty lively booth decorating competition. ....
