A year ago, Working Moms of Milwaukee was ready to roll out its first annual Working Moms Day.
Members of the group had gotten together to talk about the need to support and celebrate working moms. They decided on a day when local businesses could give discounts or run promotions for working moms, or local governments could issue proclamations honoring working moms, or HR departments could give notes of appreciation and doughnuts to the moms who worked for their companies.
The day the group chose? March 12, just as the world was shutting down due to the pandemic.
Although the day was overshadowed by unprecedented world events, the organization still celebrated the contributions of working moms because if there s anything working moms know how to do, it s how to roll with the punches.
