On Friday afternoon, young community members interested in connecting with a potential employer in person instead of through an app or online had the chance to do so during the third annual Yolo County Youth and Young Adult Job and Resource Fair.
The city of Woodland is inviting students to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by composing their own version of Dr. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech in their own words.
“Hard to shop for friends and family?” The nonprofit organization’s press release stated. “Honor them with a meaningful donation, gifting holiday nutrition and companionship in their names to struggling seniors. This holiday season add the names of the 870 seniors served by MOW Yolo… they’re waiting for hot, nourishing meals delivered to their doorsteps.”
Woodland’s “Adulting 101: Life Skills for Teens” will return Saturday, Sept. 9 allowing students to choose up to four workshops to learn about life skills not typically taught in high school.
