I think the uptake s been a little bit slow, with regards to care home staff particularly. I think there was a little bit of reluctance. The vaccine is new and it s about getting the message out there that it s safe and the safest thing to do is actually have the vaccine. The CCG is also running a vaccination programme for members of the public in West Berkshire and the over 80s are the first in line. Staff will begin vaccinating people from Newbury Racecourse next week and they are aiming to administer the jab to all the over 80s by the end of January. ....
Charlie Burns, Austen House Care Home staff member STAFF AT a care home in Lower Earley have been chosen to be vaccinated against the Coronavirus, it was announced earlier this week. Austen House Care Home, Kilnsea Drive, Lower Earley, announced the news on Monday, December 21, stating that staff were invited to the Wokingham Hospital to receive the vaccination. General Manager, Natsayi Dunira said: “We’ve had a year like no other and the vaccine feels like the light at the end of the tunnel. Our teams have been magnificent in how they have risen to every challenge during this pandemic and we are proud to play our part in this next phase to ensure the most vulnerable are protected.” ....
