It’s a great day to introduce a friend or family member to the world of fishing. License-free fishing days are every year in April and June. Fishing license requirements are waived for residents and non-residents.
It’s the Great Oaks home in Greenwood. It was built just before the Civil War in 1861 and is on the register of historic places. The Jackson County Commission and the Tourist Development Council held a special meeting at the home today.
It’s a job that comes with risks, but they are hard at work every day. “They have a tough job,” Pier Park General Manager Chris Tilley said. “You know, they do it every day and they love the community, and protect us. ”Tilley said the event is a corporate initiative, from Simon Property Group, challenging all national mall teams to do something special for their local police.
Over at A. Gray Walsingham Academy, children experienced storytelling, through the sound of music. Panama City’s Symphony Orchestra used its instruments to bring characters to life.
