glor: good evening, they went to afghanistan trying to help but tonight they have become victims of a brutal and increasingly vientd insurgency. 10 medical eight workers were gunned down in afghanistan and the taliban were quick to claim responsibility. mandy clark is in kabul tonight. reporter: the team leader, tom little, an idoctor from delmar, new york, and a father of three had been working alongside his wife in afghanistan for more than 30 years. david evans knew him well. reporter: dr. karen woo from great britain also had extensive experience in the country. she knew the trip to the lawless province of nuristan was risky but felt the effort was worth it to help those most in need of medical care. the 12-member team from the spirnl assistance mission had just completed their two-week expedition and were on their journey back to kabul when they were ambushed in a remote province of badakhshan. woo and little were shot dead, along with five other americans, ....
