Progressives take fight over Texas voting legislation to the airwaves


AUSTIN  With Texas Republican leaders showing no sign they will bow to criticism from some of the state s most powerful corporations to back away from legislation that would limit voting options, progressives are taking their opposition to the airwaves.
The voter advocacy group MOVE Texas on Friday launched a $200,000 buy that will run in the Austin, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth markets saying the measures would spark a backlash that could hurt the Texas economy.
