On March 28, 2022, Merrill Eagles #584 donated a check to the Eagles State Project. Traditionally, Eagles Aeries from around the State donate to this project. The sum total is then donated to an organization of the State President’s choice. This year, State Worthy President Fran Jorasz selected the Wisconsin Badger Camp to be the recipient of the funds. The Wisconsin Badger Camp (https://www.badgercamp.org) is a non-profit organization providing summer camp programs for adults and children with special needs. By Mark Evenstad Dec 11, 2020 5:04 PM The Platteville Community Fund, part of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, recently awarded almost $23-thousand dollars to 11 local nonprofit organizations. Among the groups receiving funds -Platteville’s Museum Department, the Grant County Historical Society, Platteville Community Arboretum, Rountree Gallery, Platteville Library Foundation, Wisconsin Badger Camp, and Southwest Opportunities Center. With the support of donors, the Platteville Community Fund is an endowment for improvement projects. Part of the fund’s earnings go back to the community – supporting the arts, education, health and human services, the environment, and historic preservation. Since 2005, the Platteville Community Fund has awarded almost $900,000. ....

The event consisted of a virtual auction and a guest speaker, NASA Astronaut Sunita Williams. Wisconsin Badger Camp serves individuals with developmental disabilities by providing quality outdoor recreational experiences. Everyone, regardless of the severity of their disability, is welcome at Badger Camp.
