Novant Health deploys mobile health clinics to provide vaccines

Novant Health on Wednesday announced the deployment of its mobile health clinics, and today, one of those clinics was parked in Winston-Salem. In partnership with Winston-State University, the Rams cruiser was parked at Community Care Center on New Walkertown Road. No appointments were necessary and bilingual staff members were present in case of language barriers.Novant says the goal is to provide easier access to vaccines to communities that need it most and establish trust.“Minority groups have had a lot of mistrust of the health care system and rolling out a vaccine is kind of a hard thing to wrap your head around but we are here. We are doing grassroots efforts to build community relationships to partner with organizations that are trusted partners so when they come in they know, we trust you, we know you are here to help us,” said Katherine Caster, manager of community engagement for Novant Health.To ensure patients receive a second dose of the vaccine, the mobile e ....
