Windsor Theatre Guild's 'murder mystery on Zoom' triumphs

Murder mystery on Zoom sells out and now an extra show has been arranged A bold Covid beating theatrical experiment staged by Windsor s leading drama group has paid off spectacularly - with sell out shows that have led to an extra performance being arranged. The show called The Tyttesfield Manor Murders was written by Windsor Theatre Guild member David Chapman to be performed online and watched from peoples homes. Audiences have been able to join in and guess whodunit or just experience technology and the arts colliding on their home screens, as leading members of the Guild brought David s crazy characters to life.

Windsor Theatre Group plans a murder to cheer people up

David said: Audiences were clearly going to be starved of live entertainment for some time. Staging a murder mystery online seemed a good way of helping cheer people up during a horrible situation. It is going to be quite a technical challenge and I am going in on a wing and a prayer. There will be audience participation with people invited to interact with each other on a chatline, form teams and dress up - with prizes for the best costume and best team name. It took David four weeks to write Murder at Tyttefield Manor - a saucy carry on of a tale about the sinister events at the home of Lord and Lady Tytteshire.
