The new station which will be 4,000 square feet and carry a price tag just over $3 million is expected to be completed Dec. 2. And unlike the building the department has been in for the past handful of years, the new station will include holding cells, interview rooms and a main lobby that will be open to the public.

New Severance police chief Ken Chavez and Windsor Severance fire chief Chris Angermuller were at Severance Town Hall Wednesday evening for a “Meet the Chiefs” event. Chavez made his way to Severance after more than four decades in Denver, with a 10-month stop in Leadville in between. Angermuller has bounced around a little more, spending 17 of his 25-year career in Overland Park, Kansas, before making stops in Arizona and on the Western Slope.
