A Florida woman who admitted to leaving her dead roommate’s body inside a trash can so she could collect his social security benefits has been arrested, authorities said.
Michelle Haney was charged last week with abuse of a dead body, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Haney, 48, told officials she found Jon Christopher Leonard dead at their home in Bradenton in July and, after putting his body in a closet for three weeks, placed his remains inside a sealed trash can and left it with a neighbor. ....
