Now that we re seeing some glimmer of light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, Texans are feeling a little bit of that wanderlust again. The good news for Lone Star State travelers is two of the top U.S. destinations to visit in 2021 are right in the heart of Texas, according to Travel & Leisure.
Fort Worth and the Hill Country made the 50-location list. Fort Worth landed at the No. 15 spot. Some of the big draws to Fort Worth include the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the creative art project Art Tooth. ....

Mike and the Moonpies had just finished their gig at Antone’s in Austin last Thursday when the city began to freeze. The country band had plans to rendezvous at their producer’s studio in Wimberley, about 45 minutes southwest, to work on a new album.
All five Moonpies, along with their tour manager and merchandise seller, made it, but conditions quickly deteriorated over the weekend throughout much of the state of Texas. A sold-out show they had scheduled for Saturday in Luckenbach was scrapped, and soon the power at the compound went out. A frozen valve at their well pump robbed them of running water. Rupert Neve, a pioneering designer of audio recording equipment that revolutionized the industry, has died, according to a statement on his company’s website. He was 94.
As reported on his website, Neve died on Feb. 12 in Wimberley, Texas from “non-COVID pneumonia and heart failure.”
Often credited as “the man who made the recording console,” Neve is best known for designing and producing microphone preamplifiers, equalizers, compressors and mixing consoles that are sought after in the industry.
