The Willmar Rail Park, as it's being called by Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission Director Aaron Backman, would encompass 145 acres in Willmar's Industrial Park and represents an expansion of the Nexyst development. The Nexyst project has been previously described as regional transportation hub for the company, which moves crops from field to consumer by using a network of specialized containers. ....

Multi-family housing projects now allowed in general business zones in Willmar
Following a public hearing during Monday s Willmar City Council meeting, the council approved amending the zoning ordinance to allow multi-family housing projects to be built in general business zones. The amendment paves the way for a new apartment complex to be built in the Waterview Business Park, which includes stores such as Walmart and PetSmart.

The area outlined in blue is the future site of Preserve on 24th, a new multi-family housing complex in Willmar. Northeast of the site is Walmart, PetSmart is directly to the west and Target is to the southwest.
