nightmares a the wheaton metro station closed several hours. the gates were shut and riders detoured because there is no way down into the tunnel. wheaton passengers are fed up. half the time they can t get all three escalators working and the elevator working at the same time. so when i found out the station was closed, i was not the least bit surprised. reporter: riders were bussed around the wheaton station on shuttles. the problem? metro says all of its escalators and elevators are out of service at the station. the shuttle bus is going take forever. i need to get on the train. i found out that the wheaton station was closed. probably it was about five minute before we got to the stop and minutes before we got to the stop and they told us that there was a shuttle here. reporter: it s one of the deepest stations. in fact, passengers say heading down into the tunnel is a grueling walk. there it that would be a terrible walk for me. i m very disappointed ....
