Colleen “Coke” Sellon, 74, of Gateway Tower in Duluth, died Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Heritage Haven. She was born in Hibbing, MN on December 2, 1948 to Rev Henry and Geraldine (Nickeson) Sellon. Coke was a secretary for Goodwill and Brown & Bigelow Publishing Company for many years. Crafting and music were very important in her life. She owned Sellon Hobbies in Duluth and in her younger years, she sang in choirs and many weddings and funerals. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul H. Sellon Sr. Coke is survived by a sister, Jacquelyn Deal of Oregon; many nieces and nephews; and her four-legged companion, Cheyenne. Memorial service 1 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Alliance Community Church. 2621 West Arrowhead Road. Pastor Bob Hepokoski officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Refreshments will be served following the service. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Boettcher Funeral home.

Dustin Barry Giersdorf, 35 of Duluth, died unexpectedly on May 18th in Duluth. Dustin was born Nov. 3, 1987 in Hibbing to Barry and Tammy Giersdorf. He graduated from Nashwauk Keewatin High school and Lake Superior College with a business degree. He was involved in his college’s veteran’s club, supporting fellow vets and volunteering whenever he was able.

Heaven gained one of the good guys when Robert “Bob” Novack, 90, a lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away May 9, 2023. He attended St. Peter and Paul school and graduated from Denfeld. He married Lorraine Breole in 1954 and they raised 5 children. Bob worked for the DWP Railroad for 47 years and was also a Longshoreman. Throughout the years, Bob enjoyed league bowling, Railroad Retirement gatherings, attending the grandchildren’s events, meticulously caring for his home and lawn(!) and was an avid Jeopardy fan. His kind, generous spirit and quick wit will be missed by us all. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; son, James; brothers, Edward, Gerald, and twin, Richard; sisters, Dorothy Miller and Irene Swallow. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Novack, Pam (Rick) Christenson, Cindy Beaudin and Mary Ortt; as well as 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and cousins.
