Jefferson County sheriff Shots fired: A Smithfield Township resident reported a shots fired incident, Tuesday. According to the report, the caller said his friend and girlfriend’s son were turning around, and a neighbor fired three shots “near the truck” leading to a “small” argument. One of the individuals in the vehicle said they were going to the store and the road they were traveling on is one-lane with a turnaround at the end before the neighbor’s property. That person told the deputy they heard the other individual yell “the neighbors have a gun” and heard the first shot, they quickly began turning around and heard the second shot, then had their head pushed down and heard the third. The individuals in the truck observed a male and female on the porch but did not see who was shooting.
