McGRATH MOSTLY MUM DURING PAYOUT TESTIMONY: Gov. Larry Hogan’s former Chief of Staff Roy McGrath declined to answer several questions during an oversight hearing Wednesday regarding the six-figure severance payout he received,  and what role, if any, Gov. Hogan played in that decision to dole out the cash, Bryan Renbaum of Maryland Reporter reports.
Maryland lawmakers were again frustrated with more questions than answers Wednesday, as McGrath said little to shed light on a six-figure payout he received from his prior state job, Pamela Wood of the Sun reports. ....

Judge issues temporary restraining order to block Anne Arundel's ban on indoor dining


An Anne Arundel County judge agreed Wednesday to issue a temporary restraining order to block the county executive s order that banned indoor dining.|| Coronavirus updates | Maryland s latest numbers | Where to get tested ||Read the temporary restraining orderA hearing is scheduled for Dec. 28 after four Anne Arundel County restaurants filed a legal challenge to County Executive Steuart Pittman s order No. 39.As a result of the judge s order and until a decision is made in the Dec. 28 hearing, the county s restaurant restrictions revert to those found in Executive Order No. 38, which limits indoor dining capacity to 25% of maximum capacity. All other provisions of Executive Order No. 39 will take effect at 5 p.m. Wednesday as planned.Just hours before the judge s decision, the county executive modified the order to allow outdoor dining, provided that 50% of tent sides are down, but the restaurant owners said it s not enough and they re asking for a judge s help.Complaint agai ....
