2 Wyoming County men charged in connection to Jan. 6 riot

ARCADE, N.Y. (WHEC)  A father and son from Arcade, Wyoming County are facing charges in connection to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building.
William Michael Sywak and his son William Jason Sywak are both facing charges of knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a restricted building or grounds and disorderly conduct on Captiol grounds.
According to court paperwork, the two originally admitted they went to the Capitol on Jan. 6 but denied going into the building, but their stories unraveled when the FBI showed them pictures from inside the building. ....

Buffalo, NY Five Western New York residents were among dozens more arrested in the past few days in connection with the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
Like in previous arrests, none of the five appeared to try to hide their involvement. Some celebrated from inside the U.S. Capitol and others boasted about the insurrection upon their return home, feds say. ....

Four more local suspects charged in US Capitol riot

Federal authorities in Buffalo arrested four people Wednesday who are accused of participating in the Jan. 6 unlawful entry into the U.S. Capitol Building.
Brought into custody were William Michael Sywak, 45, of Hamburg, and his son William Jason Sywak, 27, of Arcade; Traci Sunstrum, 44, of Amherst; and John Juran, 51, of Williamsville.
Sunstrum s charges include entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.
Juran faces two counts of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. ....
