Money raised by the then Central Karoo mayor Gayton McKenzie that was supposed to be used for service delivery came under scrutiny this week during a picket by the DA. While McKenzie has left office, questions remain about the R3m that was raised for the region, but has not been deposited into.

In the Cederberg municipality, a by-election about to take place has attracted bigwigs such as Helen Zille (DA), Gwede Mantashe (ANC) and Gayton McKenzie (PA). This by-election will cement a victory for coalitions fighting for control of the municipality.
