Saginaw YouthBuild organization opens after $1.5M federal grant Updated Mar 16, 2021; Facebook Share SAGINAW, MI - A Saginaw skilled trades nonprofit supporting at-risk youths opened its doors Monday, March 15, welcoming community members into its new facility. Youth Development Corporation held a ribbon-cutting and signing ceremony for its new home, a training center located at 126 S. Weadock Ave. on Saginaw’s East Side. The program is funded by a $1.5 million U.S. Department of Labor grant it received in February 2020, one of 67 supporting YouthBuild affiliate programs across the nation. At that time, the training center was set to open May 1. YouthBuild has multiple programs centered on giving opportunities to at-risk youth, including GED help, skilled trade training and work placement to give dropouts and current or formerly incarcerated people chances to get back on their feet. ....
