Women’s track and field took home their seventh straight conference crown, while the other teams all finished in the top four of the conference, with many setting themselves up well for the NCAA championships in the coming weeks.
It was quite an impressive weekend for the Washington University Bears. Baseball secured an emphatic sweep of Brandeis University, keeping their conference title hopes alive. Softball outmatched Carnegie Mellon University, while women’s tennis only dropped a single set in two matchups. Now in its ninth year, the Bear Cubs Running Team at Washington University in St. Louis serves children with autism and other physical and developmental disabilities as well as their siblings. Every Sunday, 100 “cubs” and their coaches meet at WashU for stretching, games and socializing. The season will end April 21 with a big race on the track at Francis Olympic Field.
Across both the Distance Carnival and WashU Invite, the women’s team notched 17 Top 10 performances in program history, and the men’s team notched four.
On Jan. 23, just three days after the meet, the women’s team clocked in as Division III’s best team in the first national rankings of the indoor season. The men’s team was also honored in their respective top 25, slotting in at No. 22.
