For six weeks. the atmosphere was jubilant with cheering, singing, dancing to the superstar s hit songs. kabc s john north was there. reporter: as soon as the guilty verdict was announced there was cheering. those who thought conrad murray was innocent left the crowd, they left behind fans who felt that conrad murray was guilty on the charges. the two crying women brought flowers for the jackson family and started sobbing as they heard the verdict all. we loved michael since our youth. we are around his age. we grew up listening to his music. just so many things about him. philanthropy work, like no other human being on earth. reporter: dozens of reporters and cameras to capture the moments. crews representing media outlets from around the world. some of the fans had been outside the courthouse every day of the trial. like felicia wilson. i am happy, doctors are i m happy because doctors are supposed to heal not kill. it shows us the justice system is okay. they did the right ....
This morning on world news now convicted. michael jackson s doctor is found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. he was taken to prison will he stay there? why he may not be serving his sentence behind bars. it s tuesday, november 8th. good morning, everybody. i m rob nelson. i m sunny hostin. michael jackson fans crowded around the courthouse yesterday afternoon erupted into cheers when they heard that guilty verdict. the jackson family says it is not over. we ll hear their reaction and also tell you why dr. murray may be allowed to serve his sentence from home. very interesting, actually, after the drama and six weeks of trial may not be behind bars. ....
Yesterday, sheer pandemonium. there were hundreds gathered outside waiting for the verdict to be announced out loud. the moment they found out murray had been found guilty, a roar came out of that crowd. many people screaming that michael jackson had finally gotten the justice they felt he deserved. we, the jury in the above entitled action, find the defendant, conrad robert murray, guilty of the crime of involuntary manslaughter. reporter: it took the jury just over nine hours of deliberation to reach their decision. [ buzzer ] reporter: for those seven men and five women, several weeks of trial and testimony boiled down to just one question who killed michael jackson? did the doctor s actions constitute gross negligence or was the singer so desperate for more drugs that he injected himself with propofol? the jury sided with the state. the judge ordered murray taken ....

[ cheers ] reporter: hundreds erupted in shouts of justice. and within moments, judge michael pastor sent conrad murray in handcuffs and stripped of his medical license to wait for his up to four year sentence in l.a. county jail. our sympathies go out to the jackson family at this time for the loss that they have suffered, not a pop icon, but a son, and a brother. i think that s most important. reporter: the jackson family leaving the courthouse to cheers. joe jackson saying cryptically. there is more. reporter: and la toya tweeted earlier michael would be in court with her expressing ....
Theories, some plausibility. they had to concede that other doctors would not have done this, but it wasn t illegal to do it, but recognize that he could have done it better, but did he, in fact, cause his death? and the issue is, could michael jackson have done this himself? and if so, maybe the doctor shouldn t be held responsible for it. based on what we know right now, defense or prosecution, who wins this? well, i m a defense lawyer, so i m always with the defense. that s tough for me to be objective. the prosecution put some evidence on that anyone could easily find him guilty of. the question is whether or not dr. murray has, in fact, presented enough for a juror to believe he, in fact, should not be held criminally responsibility. no question, civilly, he s liable. no doubt about that. but criminally, that s a different kind of question. i think the defense has done a pretty decent job. john burris, always a pleasure, sir. thank you. thank you. i m sure we ll be talki ....
