LAKE COUNTY, Ohio – A new Mobile Food Pantry will stop around Lake County every week to deliver fresh produce to seniors in need of food.
A converted Laketran Dial-a-Ride bus, renamed the Lake County Mobile Food Pantry, will visit two locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week to hand out 60 boxes of fresh produce to older participants.
“Food aid remains a top need among seniors during the coronavirus pandemic and while there are 40 food pantries in Lake County, this program is unique in providing fresh produce,” said Ben Capelle, Laketran CEO. “We are delighted to be able to reuse a bus to meet this community need.”
