(York, PA) A York County Prison guard is recovering after being beaten and nearly thrown from a second-tier catwalk by an inmate. Investigators say Edia Richie Laurence had already been serving a life sentence without parole for the murder of a young woman over drug money. C-O Michael Treider suffered a broken hand in the incident. It could have been much worse, with the potential injuries from the 15-foot fall likely serious.
