By Madeleine McCormick Getty Images DES MOINES, Iowa College students have some of the highest COVID spread in recent weeks, and schools are planning mass vaccine clinics on campus. COVID positivity among people ages 18-29 is up to 30-percent in the last seven-days, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health. Drake University in Des Moines has vaccinated more than one-thousand students, faculty, and staff so far. The school is holding another clinic this Friday, April 16th at the Knapp Center where everyone will receive the single shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The University of Northern Iowa is holding a COVID vaccine clinic tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, and second shots will have to be scheduled during finals. ....

Police say they were called to the 4500 block of Hubbell Avenue around 4:53 a.m. to the report of a pedestrian being hit by a car. They say the man was dead when they arrived. They believe the man was in the traffic lane when he was hit. The name of the victim hasn t been released at this time. ....
