NEW Cooperative supports Whittemore Fire Department | Kossuth County Advance

  WHITTEMORE The Whittemore Fire Department recently received a contribution from the NEW Cooperative Foundation totaling $2,500. The funds will be put toward the department’s recent purchase of a new tanker trunk. NEW Cooperative also presented an additional $2,500 in matching funds from the CHS, Inc. Seeds for Stewardship program. “The new tanker truck provides an additional 2,000 gallons of water our fleet can take to a fire,” said Eric Goodman, Whittemore Fire Chief.

Distracted driving led to crash between car and horse-drawn buggy with 7 people aboard, police say Updated Dec 20, 2020; Facebook Share IOSCO COUNTY, MI – Distracted driving was the cause of a crash involving a car and horse-drawn buggy in rural Iosco County, according to Michigan State Police. Troopers from the Michigan State Police West Branch Post were dispatched about 10:45 p.m. Dec. 18 to an injury crash involving the buggy on M-65 near Anderson Road in Reno Township, roughly 15 miles west of Tawas City. The buggy and a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix were both headed north on M-65. The car hit the buggy from behind, per a statement from Michigan State Police.
