Share Whitney Independent School District has notified parents of multiple COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks. As of Friday morning, May 21, the district had announced seven cases, including three high school students, two high school staff members, one middle school student, and one elementary school student. The individuals were reported to have last been on campus on dates ranging from May 12 to May 17. Those who are identified as close contacts are being notified of their possible exposure, but the district is no longer enforcing a quarantine. The Whitney ISD Board of Trustees voted in April to lift the district s mask mandate and end the mandatory quarantine of close contacts after having no reported COVID-19 cases in the district since February.
