Penn State Opens New Parking Deck On West Campus

After nearly two years of construction, Penn State will officially open a new parking deck on west campus, aptly named the West Deck, at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 10.
The new deck, located along White Course Drive between the Earth and Engineering Sciences Building and White Course Apartments, is open for both permit holders and visitors. Permit holders can check if they’re applicable through

The six-level parking deck holds 1,651 parking spaces. The first level features an 8-foot, 3-inch clearance that can accommodate larger vehicles and 28 Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible spaces. Level two, meanwhile, boasts five electric vehicle charging plugs, and 13 more spaces have been “prepped” for potential installation of more plugs in the future. ....

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Transportation Services will open the new West Deck located at University Park’s West Campus at 6 a.m. Monday, May 10, for both permit holder and visitor parking.
With the opening of the West Deck, the two sections of Red A parking located along White Course Drive near the Westgate and Earth and Engineering Sciences buildings will close at midnight Sunday night (May 9), and all vehicles must be removed from these lots by that time. Permit holders who currently have access to Red A parking areas will have access to the West Deck until further notice. ....

New West Deck parking garage opens at Penn State's West Campus

Penn State Transportation Services opened a new parking deck located at West Campus at 6 a.m. Monday, according to Penn State News.
The West Deck is available for both permit holders and visitors and can accommodate 1,651 parking spaces.
The two sections of Red A parking along White Course Drive are now closed, and those with Red A parking permits will be granted access to West Deck as an alternative.
The parking deck offers 28 ADA-accessible parking spaces, room for 100 bikes, five level-two electric vehicle charging plugs and license plate recognition software for access in and out of the parking deck, which is a first step in the universityâs transition to a virtual permit system. ....

Trustee Committee Advances Plans for New $228 Million Penn State Engineering Building on West Campus

Plans for a new, $228 million Penn State College of Engineering building on West Campus are moving forward following a recommendation for approval on Thursday by a university’s Board of Trustees Committee on Finance Business and Capital Planning.
The full board will vote on approving the plans and authorizing the funds during its meeting on Friday.
At 290,000 square feet, Engineering Research and Teaching Space 1, also known as West 1, will be Penn State’s largest academic facility.
West 1, which will be located just off of White Course Drive north of the Earth and Engineering Sciences, is part of a
multi-phase master plan to improve the quantity and quality of the College of Engineering’s facilities. ....
