Florida residents are about to get a bite of White Castle.
The fast food chain’s Orlando location – which is also the largest free-standing White Castle in the world – will open on Monday, May 3, at 8 a.m. Aside from being the largest White Castle, it will also be the fast food chain’s first restaurant in Florida since the 1960s, when it had four locations in Miami.
The new restaurant is located near I-4, between Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, in a new development from Unicorp called The Village at O-Town West.
According to an announcement provided to Fox News, White Castle hired 120 employees – including team members and managers – to staff the location.

The wait is almost over. Florida’s only White Castle slider hamburger restaurant is set to open on May 3, 2021 in Orlando with fanfare and a ribbon cutting at 8 a.m.
The Orlando Castle – one of the largest free-standing White Castles in the world – marks the brand’s return to Florida since operating four restaurants in Miami in the 1960s.
Located in Southwest Orlando, the restaurant is on track to be one of the first businesses to open at The Village at O-Town West new mixed-use development, after Portillo’s had to delay their opening. (Portillo’s still hasn’t reset an opening date.) O-Town West is off Palm Parkway, about three and a half miles from Disney Springs.

White Castle is entering its centennial year by transitioning its board chair from former White Castle President and CEO Bill Ingram to his daughter, the company s current president and CEO, Lisa Ingram, according to a news release. I know, as a fourth-generation, we are all thankful for Bill s many years of leadership, Lisa Ingram said in the release. I m honored to take on this new responsibility as chair of the board.
