1.8k Views The latest film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” has inched forward, with Amblin Pictures signing “24 : Legacy” and “Straight Outta Compton” actor Corey Hawkins to headline the picture. “The Last Voyage of the Detmer” is based on a single chapter in Stoker’s original novel that tells the story of the Russian schooner, Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo – twenty four unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia to London. The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a terrifying presence onboard the ship. When it finally arrived near Whitby Harbor, it was a derelict. There was no trace of the crew. The initial script was written by Bragi Schut.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter follows a single chapter in Bram Stroker’s classic horror novel Dracula where the famed vampire makes the journey by to London by sea, feasting on the unsuspecting crew of the Demeter during the voyage.
