it s 9am in singapore, 1am in london and 4am in the turkish city of istanbul, where police have reportedly detained the main suspect behind the new year s eve shooting at a nightclub. 39 people were killed and seventy injured in the attack. the so called islamic state has claimed responsibility for the shooting. our turkey correspondent mark lowen has the latest. this was the culmination of a huge nationwide police manhunt that appears to have finally apprehended a 30 year old man, uzbek national, abdulkadir masharipov, believed to be the main suspect behind the istanbul nightclub attack. in the aftermath of the attack he managed to escape, to flee the scene. apparently, they were staying in an apartment belonging to a friend. photographs released on social media and state media show him very bloodied with a heavily bruised face, wearing a grey t shirt and being held by his throat. he is undergoing a medical check and he has been transferred to police custody. there wer ....
