The agreement comes amid a hope from Capitola officials that the wharf itself will reopen to the public sometime in July on a rolling basis, meaning it may shut down temporarily to allow for some final installations.
The proposed agreement comes about three months after the city-owned wharf building that the Boat and Bait Shop had been operating out of for decades was torn down after it was deemed a total loss from devastating winter storms in recent years.
The Capitola Wharf, an 855-foot-long wooden structure that juts into scenic Monterey Bay, is nearly ready for a new chapter after $10.6 million in repairs.
