Camden and Haringey approve council tax rises | Hampstead Highgate Express

Camden and Haringey both approved budgets which will see council tax raised as they look to fund the next year s activities.
The town halls voted to raise their share of council tax by the maximum 1.99%, in addition to a 3% rise in the social care precept which funds those particular services.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan is set to raise his share of council tax by 9.5% – £2.63 a month, on average.
In Camden, finance chief Cllr Richard Olszewski said: The budget we re presenting to the council tonight is fully in line with every other budget this labour council has set - its priorities are supporting our residents and our communities, especially given the impact of the last 12 months. ....

LOTI provides £150,000 for Covid digital and data projects


It has made the awards under its Covid Innovation Fund which was launched in December.
One of the projects – involving Barnet, Brent, Kensington and Chelsea, Southwark and Westminster Councils – covers the development of an interactive demographic map of user needs.
It is based on the boroughs’ work in creating rich data models for understanding the distribution and different forms of digital exclusion, reflecting fears that this will grow as more services shift to online delivery.
The project is identifying people over 65, low income families, unemployed people and those with disabilities as the priority groups.
The other project involves developing new approaches to preventative support for vulnerable residents in partnership with the voluntary sector. ....
