Despite the trials of 2020 on the hotel industry, hotel renovations and new builds continue in Knox County in 2021.  Hotel occupancy rates in 2020 were, unsurprisingly, low. Knox County had a 47.2% occupancy rate in 2020, down from 63.5% in 2019, according to Smith Travel research data.  The year was marked with several new additions: the renovation of The Four Points by Sheraton into Cumberland House, the opening of Graduate Knoxville, and the opening of Tru by Hilton and Aloft on Lovell Road.  There s plenty of activity in 2021, too.
