ADELAIDE United hold the longest winning streak in Australian National Cup history after beating Adelaide Olympic 1-0 on Sunday afternoon to progress to the FFA Cup Quarter Finals.
The Reds have now won 12 successive games in the cup competition, eclipsing an 11-game run by Brisbane City FC in the NSL Cup from 1977-1979 to take the record outright whilst moving on to the last eight of the FFA Cup.
Western United has added another high-profile international to its squad with the signing of Serbian international striker Aleksandar Prijovic on a multi-year deal
Prijovic has enjoyed a prolific career-to-date across Europe and the Middle East and will add another dimension to Western United’s attack.
The 31-year-old has played topflight football in multiple countries, scoring nearly 150 goals in close to 400 professional games across his club career.
