NAVARRE – Mayor Bob Benson wants to make North Market Street Park a place where families can gather to enjoy a baseball game, swing on the swing set and, maybe, get in a workout.
Years ago, the park had tennis courts, a playground and baseball diamonds. Today, all that s left are two baseball fields and an aging playground.
With the help of the Towpath Trail YMCA, the village has set out to revitalize the green space.
Improvements to the park, along Market Street next to the Towpath Trail YMCA complex, include the addition of a pavilion and replacing the playground equipment.
